Localised offers to drive Euro SVOD market to be worth nearly $7BN by 2022
The over-the-top (OTT) subscription online video-on-demand (SVOD) market in Europe should keep growing over the next five years, with revenues soaring 74% from 2017 to total $6.8 billion, says research from Kagan.Kagan calculates that total paid subscriptions in 14 key markets – namely Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Poland and Russia – will grow from 39.3 million in 2017 to 60.8 million in 2022, a compound annual growth rate of 9.1%. This number represents paid subscriptions to online video services and excludes registered accounts through sale promotions or multi-play bundles.
